At Terrey Hills Swim Club, we support swimmers of all levels, from beginners to those striving for elite competition. Our competitive pathway provides clear steps for progression through club, regional, state, and national swimming.

From Club to Nationals

1. Club Level

Start by racing at our own club nights and time trials. It’s a fun and friendly way to gain experience, set personal bests, and build confidence.

2. Regional (SMNE)

SNME (Swimming Metro North East) - Once you're ready, you can qualify for SMNE meets. These events bring together swimmers from local clubs in our region and introduce more formal competition.

3. State (Swimming NSW)

Top-performing swimmers from SMNE may qualify for State-level meets, such as the NSW Metropolitan Championships and State Championships.

4. National (Swimming Australia)

Exceptional swimmers can qualify for national meets, including the Australian Age and Open Nationals, where they compete with the country’s best.

Competitive Calendar

Competitive swimming is held year-round, across two distinct seasons:

Long Course (Summer Season)

  • Competitions take place in 50m pools
  • Typically held from October to March
  • Most major qualifying events and championships happen in long course format

    Short Course (Winter Season)

  • Competitions are held in 25m pools
  • Typically run from April to September
  • Great for skill-building and improving turns and finishes
